Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 7, 2026. This Privacy Policy explains how ChapterDrive collects, uses and shares personal information when you visit chapterdrive.com, use app.chapterdrive.com, or contact us.

Information we collect

We collect the information you provide when you join a waitlist, create or manage an account, apply as a Sponsor, register for an event, contact us or use our services. This may include your name, email address, phone number, location, business details, profile information, preferences and messages.

When you use the platform, we also keep records needed to provide the features you use, such as membership status, event registrations and attendance, offer redemptions, donations, payment status and account changes.

We receive technical information such as IP address, browser and device details, pages visited, timestamps and error reports to operate, protect and improve our services.

Cookies and analytics

We use optional Google Analytics on our website to understand visits and improve the experience. Where offered, optional product analytics may also use PostHog to understand which pages and features are used and where people encounter problems. This can include page views, feature interactions, browser and device details, timestamps and identifiers used to distinguish visits.

Optional analytics is separate from the records needed to provide your account, process a transaction or protect the service. Where consent is required, we ask before enabling optional analytics. You can change your website analytics choice through the cookie settings. Contact us if you need help with your analytics preferences.

Google sign-in

When you choose Google sign-in, Google shares basic account information with us, such as your name, email address, profile picture and Google account identifier. We use this information to create or identify your ChapterDrive account, sign you in and help protect your account.

Google sign-in does not give ChapterDrive your Google password or access to your Gmail messages, contacts or Drive files. We do not use Google sign-in information for advertising or sell it. It is handled by our authentication and hosting providers as needed to provide the sign-in service.

You can remove ChapterDrive access in your Google Account settings. Removing that connection does not automatically delete information already held in your ChapterDrive account; contact privacy@chapterdrive.com to request deletion.

How we use information

We use personal information to provide and manage accounts, memberships, Sponsor services, events, offers and donations; process requests and payments; answer questions; send service messages; prevent fraud and abuse; and meet legal and recordkeeping obligations.

We use optional analytics to understand and improve the experience. Marketing messages are handled separately from account and service communications. Providing a phone number for Sponsor enquiries does not give permission for unrelated marketing.

Email and consent

We send account, security and service messages when needed, such as sign-in confirmations, password recovery, application updates, receipts and event notices. These messages are separate from marketing.

If you choose to receive marketing or waitlist updates, you can unsubscribe using the link in those messages. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop messages needed to manage or protect your account or complete a request.

How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We share information with service providers that help us run ChapterDrive, including Supabase for authentication and data storage, Vercel for app hosting, Stripe for payments, email delivery providers, and analytics providers where enabled.

Stripe handles payment details through its payment services. ChapterDrive receives information needed to manage transactions, such as payment status and transaction references.

Authorized Sponsors and event staff can access the limited information needed to verify eligibility, record a redemption or manage event attendance. Access depends on their role and the service being provided.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, or as part of a business transfer. Our providers may process information in countries other than yours; applicable safeguards depend on the service and legal requirements.

Essential cookies and logs

Cookies and similar technologies support sign-in, security, preferences, forms and basic site operation. Technical logs help us detect errors, investigate abuse and keep services reliable.

Optional analytics choices are separate from these necessary functions. You can also use your browser settings to manage cookies, although blocking necessary cookies may affect sign-in and other features.

Retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the services you use, manage our relationship with you, meet legal and financial recordkeeping requirements, resolve disputes and protect the service.

Retention depends on the type of record and why it is needed. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or remove identifying details. Some transaction, security and audit records may need to be retained after an account is closed.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal information, including access controls and secure connections. Access is limited according to the work a person or service needs to perform.

No online service can guarantee complete security. Keep your sign-in details private and contact support@chapterdrive.com if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

Children

ChapterDrive is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact privacy@chapterdrive.com so we can review and address it.

Your choices

You can choose what information to provide, update available account details, unsubscribe from marketing, change website cookie preferences and disconnect Google sign-in through your Google Account.

To request access, correction or deletion of personal information, contact privacy@chapterdrive.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Some information may be retained where needed for legal obligations, security, transaction records or other permitted purposes.

California and other privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your information, withdraw consent, or object to or restrict certain uses. You may also have the right to complain to your local privacy regulator.

Contact privacy@chapterdrive.com to make a request. We will review it under the rules that apply to you. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Our services and policy updates

This policy covers both our public website at chapterdrive.com and our account platform at app.chapterdrive.com. The information collected depends on the features you use.

Links to independent Sponsor websites or other third-party services are governed by those services’ own privacy policies. We may update this policy as our services or practices change and will show the revised date on this page. Where required, we will provide additional notice of significant changes.
